Panoramic X-Ray
Panoramic X-Ray
A panoramic dental X-ray, also called a panorex, is a two-dimensional (2D) X-ray that provides a broad view of your entire mouth, including teeth, jaws, and surrounding bone structures. It’s used to diagnose various dental issues and plan treatments, often used when a wider view of the mouth is needed.
Benefits:
- Improved Diagnoses – Panoramic X-rays capture a wide area of the mouth, making them useful for detecting problems like impacted wisdom teeth, jaw cysts, and bone lesions.
- Monitoring – Panoramic X-rays can also be used to monitor the progress of TMJ (temporomandibular joint) conditions or the growth of cysts.
- Convenience – They are generally easier and quicker than traditional intraoral X-rays, requiring minimal patient movement and no film placement in the mouth.
